About Us
MM Skyline Contracting, Inc. doing business as Skyline Contracting was incorporated in August 1987. Skyline is a local company that specializes in commercial and municipal projects, earthwork, demolition and underground utility piping. We have successfully completed a variety of projects ranging from small jobs to larger projects up to $6 million. We take pride in being innovative as well as practiced in delivering a quality product to the consumer. Mike Kelleher is the president, sole shareholder And CEO. Diane Fugate is the secretary/treasurer, and Mathew Schindler is Project Manager/Estimator.
Skyline Contracting is experienced in all types of demolition and commercial construction projects including: demolition, site grading, building foundation earthwork and installation of underground piping infrastructure: including but not limited domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and geothermal piping.
Skyline has maintained a working relationship while participating on a variety of projects with Orchard Mesa Sanitation, Clifton Water, Ute Water, Mesa County, City of Grand Junction, and State of Colorado State Parks and Wildlife. We have also worked very successfully with many of the local general contractors, such as, FCI Constructors, Kissner GC, Shaw Construction, Asset Engineering, and May's Concrete.
Skyline Contracting performed the earthwork on the 29 Road Bridge over the Colorado River for Hamon Contractors, Inc. and Mesa County Public Works. This work included installation and removal of several coffer dams, diversion of the Colorado River during excavation and compacted backfill for the bridge abutments, erosion control, subgrade preparation and earthwork for the road construction.

Responsible for the guidance in business directives, daily operations, and annual budget decisions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Mesa State College, with 40 plus years in the earthwork and underground utility construction industry. He is a lifelong Grand Valley resident and has worked on many notable projects in the valley and surrounding communities. With so many years in the valley, he respects and understands the relationship of the soils and environmental characteristics that are unique to the area.
Diane Fugate

Responsible for business management, human resources, and maintaining the financial integrity of the corporation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Mesa State College. She is a lifelong resident of the area- starting her career in the oil & gas industry she now has 28 years of experience in construction.
Mathew Schindler
Project Manager Estimator

Responsible for bidding all Skyline projects and managing the projects from start to finish. He was accepted into Colorado School of Mines in 2009 while working summers for Skyline Contracting. He returned to Grand Junction to complete his bachelor’s degree in construction management at Colorado Mesa University. He has 17 years of experience in earthwork.
Our Personnel
Skyline currently employs 30+ full time employees. An average crew includes the classifications of foreman, first lead-operator, equipment operator, driver and ground labor.
Skyline employees are trained in CPR/First Aid responders, Excavation Competent Person, OSHA 10 Hour, and Storm Water Management, and they are always encouraged to improve their operator classification skills. All of the current foremen have been employed with Skyline for 10 years or more and most of the employees have over 5 years of service.
